Day 4 - 5/21
This morning, got in at 10:30 to have a meeting with Likai and John about scribing.
Key points were:
- 10 Micron width scribe
- Could use a hot air gun after deposition, and then anneal to crystalize (double check this)
- Two potential methods:
- Deposit - Vacuum - Scribe - Crystalize
- Deposit - Scribe - Vacuum - Crystalize
- Could try also mask-resist but it would be difficult to get something 10 microns wide
- Plastic and metal would be good for scribing (likely no diamond as it might puncture the FTO)
- Need to likely do most of the processes in a dry air box due to humid air
Things I need to do:
- Ask Tiziano to make some perovskites, to store them and use them when needed (make sure no bigger than what Felix can PL characterize - Asked Chaofan
- Have Felix demonstrate how to use the PL - Done
- Figure out how to do wet scribes (likely wait till John is back)
- Learn how to use the e-microscope from Sandy
- Get razor blades, scribers (metal with point essentially), pointed glass?
- Get more feedback on what the slot die coater needs (wooden box, air conditions, etc...)
In the afternoon, I learned how the PL mapping characterization works from Felix. There's some calibrations that happen and it takes quite a bit of time. The standard cell size is 25 x 15 mm.
